If you're checking out these rings in the ***PROTOTYPE*** section, here are some things you need to know. The images provided are 3d model renderings and may not reflect the final design and or color. All of these rings in this section I'm confident in successfully producing, I just haven't made them yet, for a variety of reasons. I've made a ton of designs, many of which just sit idle in a folder. Producing a ring takes time and money. Its hard to forecast how well any design will do, so sometimes if I don't think there is enough interest, I might not make them for a long time or ever. For example, I design a ring then make it. That protoytpe again, takes time and money. Some designs are very niche, which means I might not ever sell it or I may only sell one every year or maybe just one at some point in the future... When this happens, typically I lose money. The result of that is, it slows down how much new stuff I can produce. I didn't get in this game to build a personal collection lol. So this year I'm trying something new. I have a lot of current clients that have inquired about certain designs I've made over the years, i.e "Whatever happened to that one ring you made?" etc. Potential clients that follow me on social media as well, waiting for me to actually make something they liked. I figure the best way for me to launch new rings with a limited amount of risk, is here in the prototype section. Reducing my financial risk also enables me to discount the very first few rings I make. The prices listed will only ever be sold at that price for the first few to buy it (limited to 3). Once I get the first ring made for you, new photos will be taken and the listing will be moved out of this section and priced at normal retail costs. You buy a ring in this section and I guarantee you will be one of the first few to own one and the only ones to get it at that price.
Delivery times on these rings are a little longer then normal, set to 5-7 weeks. Not every ring makes it through the casting process the first time perfectly. Occasionally I have to go back and make design changes to make it work properly, hence the reason I need a little more time. That being said, if it's ready to ship sooner then I'll send it when it's ready. It's also possible that it might take multiple adjustments to get it right. You could certainly experience a delay if it take's me more time to get it sorted out. In the unlikely event, the design just won't work and or needs majors changes I will reach out to discuss it with you. If I can't make it to the quality that represents my best work, you will be refunded immediately. This determination is up to me. If you are very particular about design expectations, color tones, texture or features, or normally just not a patient person, please wait until I have the normal listing up- do not buy a prototype.
**Sizing-> You need to make sure the size you select is correct. If I have to make a replacement for whatever reason it will take an additional 3-4 weeks... So its important to get the order right the 1st time. If you need to get the ring re-sized in the future heading to your local jeweler is gonna be your best option (for some rings). I don't offer re-sizing services for anything not pure silver. Typically the rings I make are pretty true to size with a +/- tolerance of .15 so keep that in mind when selecting your size.
The following details are broad and may not be about this specific listing. Some things may be applicable others may not. If you have any questions, please shoot me a message.
**To produce this item, requires a ton of work which is reflected in the pricing. Beginning with a master copy being printed on the Form2 SLA printer @ .025mm resolution (very fine). Those copies made for each individual size are cleaned, trimmed, polished and then molded with a specialty silicone to capture the details perfectly. After the mold is made, wax is injected into the mold to make wax copies. Those wax copies are then used to create an investment mold, for lost wax casting. Those molds are put into a kiln and the wax is burned out while also preparing (heating/curing) the mold for metal casting. Once the mold is ready, metal is heated up in a crucible to its melting point. Once the metal is ready, a spring driven centrifugal casting machine is used to slam the molten metal into the mold. Once the mold has cooled a bit, it is then dissolved and broken apart with water submersion. The left over castings are then media blasted to remove excess crud and prepped for hand detailing. All of the details have to be cleaned with a flex shaft rotary tool, sharpening up the details and repairing any casting issues. Rings are then machine polished to a mirror finish. Followed by preparing the ring for plating, which in itself is another multi step process of acid cleaning, drying, water break test, drying and plating with a base metal (which changes depending on original casting material). The process is then repeated for the final metal plating- gold/rhodium etc. Finally, all the rings are then hand polished one more time and inspected for quality.
**In addition to the metal casting and plating process, some of these rings get a permanent metallic colored nano-ceramic hypoallergenic coating. That process is very similar to the plating process with an additional curing step that makes these coatings just about bullet proof figuratively speaking. During my own learning process of this new technique I managed to screw up the first few coatings I did and it took me the better part of a week to remove which included long baths in some nasty chemicals to even begin to break down the coating, followed by many hours of sanding and grinding to get the coating completely off. You can imagine how frustrating that was but, the difficulty in removing it personally sold me on how good the product really is.
**Coated rings -> ***Special note*** These rings can not be resized due to the coating. The average jeweler would not even consider working on it. The process is too new and the equipment needed to do the coatings is too expensive for most.
**Color... The colors shown in the renderings do not accurately depict the final color of the ring. If the ring has a colored ceramic coating and you want to know what that might look like, take a look at my other listings. Photos in the listing are for reference only.
**Allergies-> For those who have metal allergies, please be advised. (if plated and not silver base metal) While the initial Rhodium or Gold plating does significantly (90%) reduce the chance of turning your finger green/black or causing any irritation from the brass or bronze base metal. The ceramic coating -clear or colored (if option is selected for gold/silver/rhodium) on top of that literally removes (per the manufacturer) any chance of a metal allergic reaction. That being said, I have no information on possible ceramic allergies. My skin personally is very sensitive, I've been wearing a ring using the exact same process for over a year now and have seen no indication of such. I can't normally wear a brass ring without my finger turning black and I have no issues with these. The base metal is coated so well, there's no contact with the skin. Even after subjecting my personal ring to a ton of household chemicals as well as chemicals in my shop, I've seen 0 changes to the finish or coating.
Lastly, there is a group on FB for owners only. Once you make your purchase you will have an option to join the group. Just have your order number handy as your will need to answer that question when joining. There you will get access to discount codes, be included in drawings for free rings. Get early access to see new designs and prototype rings. As well as being able to follow along with the production process.

When will my order ship?
Usually within the described shipping time which is different for most items. Occasionally a label is created prior to shipment, I usually try to set the notification to the same day as actually shipping out but sometimes I forget to change that date... Regardless, most items are shipped and notified correctly. Worst case scenario 5-7 days after the label is created. Normally I prep boxes the week before shipping out.
